More vmware workstation problems

Now that I have vmware workstation actually using /dev/dsp, I'm having a whole new set of problems. It works fine with OSSv4 and my hdaudio sound cards, as well as the ich on my laptop. However, if I try to use my sblive card, I get massive stuttering in the guest (Windows XP). If I switch to alsa on the sblive, it works just fine.

Any ideas how I can further debug this?

You can try without vmix, to see if that's related somehow...

Yes, disabling vmix has it working properly now. Just in case anyone was wondering, this is what it sounds like with vmix enabled:
